Position Overview
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Engineering, the Mechanical Engineer is to have New Product Development Experience (Vehicular and Machine Design), Drafting, and Manufacturing Support. In addition, to be able to compile and provide training for Maintenance/Repair Procedures. Practical knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles is an asset.

Accountabilities

  • Contribute and Analyse Designs for Kallo Mobile Units and Buildings.
  • Drawing checking and approval.
  • Manufacturing support.
  • Participate in down selection activities.
  • Compile and provide training on Preventative Maintenance and Repair Procedures.
  • Support the Business Office for Concept Design and Proposals.
  • Participate in Change Management activities.

Key Deliverables during First 12 to 24 months

  • Have a fully approved and released drawing package for Kallo Mobile Units and Buildings.
  • Create and provide live training for Preventative Maintenance and Repair Procedures.
  • Engineering focal for managing the incorporation of changes as per the program change management process.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • University degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, P.Eng. is an asset
  • At least 4 years of experience in a similar manufacturing position
  • Practical knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles is an asset
  • New Product Development design and analysis experience in Machine Design, Vehicle/Land Systems Development, and/or Building Design
  • Created, checked, and approved drawings (ASME Y14.100, Y14.5)
  • Practical Solidworks experience is an asset.
  • Created or Worked with Maintenance Procedures (e.g. Maintenance Manuals)
  • Experience working in testing and manufacturing environments
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. Microsoft Project experience is an asset.
  • Clear communication skills, able to create training materials and provide live training
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong self-starter, logical, interpersonal, problem-solver with strong attention to detail
  • Track record of successful execution, with an energetic ‘can-do’ team player attitude, and an ability to drive and manage change is important
  • Travel will be required to customer sites and Kallo office locations
