Senior Director – Supply Chain

Position Overview
Reporting to the Vice-President – Operations, the Senior Director – Supply Chain will lead and manage all Supply Chain activities for Kallo global facilities. They will hire and develop a high performing team and provide them with day-to-day leadership and direction.

Accountabilities

  • Manage the profit and loss of the facility Supply Chain operations.
  • Develop and execute the infrastructure project plan for each facility.
  • Facilitate the implementation of market-based purchasing projects at each facility.
  • Execute the implementation and operational plan for all of the point of use systems.
  • Coordinate, manage, and evaluate facility Supply Chain personnel.
  • Create a supportive environment for supply chain staff development and the delivery of supply chain solutions.
  • Raise and resolve facility-based supply chain issues and improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate and drive efforts to enable supply improvement initiatives (SII) to succeed within each facility.
  • Facilitate the standardization of products and optimize supply utilization through effective collaboration with Physicians and clinicians.
  • Manage the facility implementation plan, identify and mitigate risks (leverage lessons learned, utilize proactive communication techniques), and monitor resource allocations to ensure successful execution of plan.
  • Execute the Supply Chain Performance Measurement plan at the facility and report these results in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Execute a continuous improvement program for supply chain functions.
  • Ensure useful knowledge is captured and promote sharing of information.
  • Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care of the services delivered.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of occurrence reporting system and utilizes system to report potential patient safety issues.
  • Oversee all supply chain projects and programs; ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with project budgets.

Key Deliverables during First 12 to 24 Months

  • Develop supply chain strategy and project plan for each of the first 3 years.
  • Assess Kallo baseline supply chain, including supply and demand planning, warehouses, logistics and fleet.
  • Evaluate procurement practices, policies, and spend including sourcing strategies, vendor selection, vendor evaluation, contracting, governance, and risk mitigation.
  • Identify quick win opportunities.
  • Translate quick win opportunities into a roadmap of achievable initiatives. Build business cases, project plans and IT / technology requirements for initiatives.
  • Champion Supply Chain and Procurement transformation initiatives.
  • Provide day-to-day program management, decision-support analytics, subject matter expertise and creative thinking.
  • Lead internal cross-functional team and external consultants (as required) to build blue print of future state supply chain and procurement. Set up program management to execute.
  • Synthesize information, analytical findings and issues into concise actionable summaries suitable for presentation to senior management/executives.
  • Lead, coach and motivate a small and effective team of Senior Managers and/or Managers

Qualifications and Requirements

  • BA or BSc required in a technical discipline such as logistics, engineering, math or data science or equivalent experience.
  • 7 to 10 years experience in a senior supply chain management position, which included responsibility for procurement.
  • Minimum of three years hospital management experience required.
  • Organization – proactively prioritizes needs and effectively manages resources.
  • Leadership – guides individuals and groups toward desired outcomes, setting high performance standards and delivering leading quality services.
  • Customer Orientation – establishes and maintains long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations
  • Tactical execution – oversees the development, deployment and direction of complex programs and processes.
  • Policies & Procedures – develops and implements supply chain policies, procedures and systems.
  • Financial management – applies tools and processes to successfully manage to budget.
  • Project management – assesses work activities and allocates resources appropriately.
  • Ability to work with field offices considering cross-cultural sensitivities and respect at all times.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and independently; demonstrating initiative and creativity when solving problems.
  • Flexible with ability to meet deadlines and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Proven experience to lead in the achievement of results.
  • Experience with a multinational organization.
  • Strong initiative, assertiveness, negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making and presentation skills.
  • Good logical, interpersonal, written and oral communication abilities with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong execution ability, with an energetic ‘can-do’ team player attitude, and an ability to drive and manage change is important.
  • Travel will be required to customer sites and Kallo office locations.
