Position Overview
Reporting to the Senior Director – Supply Chain, the Senior Manager – Global Sourcing will have full responsibility for the negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution for much of our key global Hardware, Software and Real Estate spend throughout the company. They will also assume ownership for negotiation and management of all Contracts.

Accountabilities

  • Lead a team of sourcing professionals.
  • Guide them in their own professional development.
  • Create development plans for each individual.
  • Develop an appropriate work balance between the team.
  • Manage the workload of the organization.
  • Establish effective relationships with supported business units.
  • Engage all supported business units (BUs) on their strategies and resulting needs for third party goods or services.
  • Maintain effective relationships with key internal customers and support organizations.
  • Set clear goals for cost savings, value creation and supplier performance in context of business unit operating plans.
  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing plan for assigned commodities and services.
  • Use category expertise in relevant categories/commodities to establish or refine category strategy.
  • Conduct market analysis to develop supply market strategies.
  • Utilize deep understanding of industry, supplier dynamics and market trends to determine sources of leverage for FDC.
  • Collaborate with technical authorities and other operational staff from BUs to develop strategies.
  • Ensure optimal global spend leverage across BUs and geographies.
  • Support any new business activities within BUs by identifying appropriate sources within existing strategy.
  • Drive and conduct sourcing process.
  • Lead cross functional teams through sourcing process and ensure sourcing decision is consistent with overall BU strategy.
  • Define and conduct RFI, RFP, RFx activities.
  • Create and model Total Cost of Ownership for categories and sourcing decisions.
  • Evaluate, qualify, & select suppliers.
  • Define and obtain approval for business case for sourcing decision.
  • Maintain ongoing awareness of and influence on supplier performance in assigned categories/services.
  • Maintain continuous awareness of ongoing supplier performance in assigned commodity/service areas.

Key Deliverables during First 12 to 24 Months

  • Assist in developing Global Sourcing strategy and project plan for each of the first 3 years.
  • Drive supplier selection processes.
  • Make final selection of all Suppliers.
  • Develop negotiating strategy, plan and lead negotiations.
  • Understand contractual framework and negotiate appropriately.
  • For all high impact suppliers, participate in scorecard development, quarterly business reviews for assigned vendors.
  • Participate in problem resolution/escalation arising from supplier performance issues for assigned commodities/services.
  • Establish appropriate policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, and governmental and non-governmental grant requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Strategic Sourcing, or a related educational discipline.
  • 10 plus years experience in increasingly responsible positions in strategic sourcing/procurement and supplier negotiations.
  • 5 plus years experience managing the specific category or as technical authority for the category.
  • Experience working in the industry (which supplies the category) is a plus
  • General financial analysis skills and experience.
  • Strong analytical skills: Can effectively use quantitative and qualitative data to make decisions
  • Negotiation skills: Can effectively and assertively explore alternatives and positions to reach mutually beneficial outcomes.

  • Flexible with ability to meet deadlines and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Proven experience to lead in the achievement of results.
  • Experience with a multinational organization.
  • Excellent diplomatic, interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
  • Strong initiative, assertiveness, negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making and presentation skills.
  • Good logical, interpersonal, written and oral communication abilities with a strong attention to detail.
  • Organizational, planning, information gathering and monitoring skills.
  • Strong execution ability, with an energetic ‘can-do’ team player attitude, and an ability to drive and manage change is important.
  • Travel will be required to customer sites and Kallo office locations.
