Position Overview
Reporting to the Director - Technology, this position contributes to the success of the Company by providing effective support and assuring efficient IT operations, supporting a wide variety of business needs, solutions, applications, and communications necessary to carry out Kallo’s mission and maintain operations in all areas supporting the annual and strategic goals, including supporting, maintaining and controlling the Company's assets, assuring management, execution and management of programs, and efficient management of business and support functions.

Accountabilities

  • Configure, monitor, and maintain switches, firewalls, and bridges as necessary to ensure the performance of the entire network, including appropriate data cabling.
  • Manage Active Directory environment, including design and management of DNS and DHCP.
  • Perform administration and support of VoIP telephone system including unified messaging, emergency responder, and related systems.
  • Manage and monitor storage-area-network infrastructure and backup system including tape library unit. Perform audits and validity tests as needed to assure recoverable backups.
  • Maintain and manage MS Exchange email system and SMTP gateway.
  • Perform server hardware and software installations, upgrades, patches, service packs, as necessary.
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain Wireless system.
  • Monitor and maintain enterprise anti-virus system. Perform upgrades as necessary. Ensure protection from latest threats and vulnerabilities. Monitor and maintain web security proxy. Provide reports and perform audits as necessary.

Key Deliverables during First 12 to 24 Months

  • Monitor server hardware and applications for continuous uptime.
  • Assess and recommend architectural designs/changes in response to business or technical drivers.
  • Actively participate in the planning, design, and implementation of server operating system configurations, network infrastructure, and related hardware

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or other relevant field or equivalent combination of related training and experience required.
  • Microsoft MCSE and/or CCNA, CCNP certification or equivalent highly preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years experience providing primary network system administration/engineering support for comparable-sized organization(s).
  • Experience with managing Active Directory, MS Exchange administration, SQL, backup/recovery, security, video conferencing, SAN/NAS, network troubleshooting, terminal server, Citrix, VMware, IP video.
  • Experience with CISCO network switches, wireless access points/controllers, firewalls, VPN, VoIP, unified communications.
  • Familiarity with network diagnostic devices and application software preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of information and respect customer privacy.
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to effectively resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Experience and/or ability to work and interact effectively with a diverse, multicultural audience.
  • Ability to work with field offices considering cross-cultural sensitivities and respect at all times.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with aptitude for accuracy and details.

  • Experience with a multinational organization.

  • Ability to prioritize and effectively execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
  • Strong initiative, assertiveness, negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making and presentation skills.
  • Good logical, interpersonal, written and oral communication abilities with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong execution ability, with an energetic ‘can-do’ team player attitude, and an ability to drive and manage change is important.
  • Travel will be required to customer sites and Kallo office locations.
