Position Overview
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Engineering, the Systems and Test Engineer is to have New Product Development experience specifically managing requirements, verification that requirements have been met, creation and execution of test procedures, and test report follow up. Although specifically reporting into Engineering, may also include coordination of testing for clinical applications and IT.
Accountabilities
- Capture and Review all requirements for engineering systems
- Formalize all requirements with buy in from functional owners
- Validation and Verification of requirements
- Analysis of failure modes and effects
- Test identification and creation of test procedures
- Responsible for overall test planning and management
- Accountable for release of test reports
- Primary focal for ensuring test problems/bugs/snags are closed out in a timely manner
Key Deliverables during First 12 to 24 months
- Capture and maintain the consolidated requirements for each product.
- Create and Execute Test Procedures on components and integration.
- Management of all test related issues.
Qualifications and Requirements
- University degree in Engineering, P.Eng. is an asset
- At least 4 years of experience in a similar systems and/or test position
- Experience working in both manufacturing and test environments
- Able to read and understand engineering drawings
- Able to systematically capture and manage requirements
- Created and maintained test procedures
- Proven track record for managing and executing to a test schedule
- Excellent project management skills and a great communicator
- Strong self-starter, logical, interpersonal, problem-solver with strong attention to detail.
